February 26th, 2006 - Florida Keys Cold Front by Martin Kucera
Beautiful weather just hours before approaching cold front. Notice the white cloud tops on the horizon. Quite windy at this time though. Small craft advisory in effect.
Right after the leading edge of this front passed over the Keys. This photo shows the back side of the leading edge with some developing showers. Pretty soon the entire horizon was overtaken by the rain.
A close-up shot of the Alligator Lighthouse on the nearby reef. You can see shower picking up the intensity.
The front is moving father away now. Soon we got some heavier rain showers and it was time to head home for a while. This scene turned out to be pretty spectacular.
